New York: Work-Life Balance Takes Center Stage

(From BusinessWire.com) With the recent slew of layoffs, pay cuts and rising taxes, Americans are more stressed than ever before and their work-life balance has become increasingly off kilter. In fact, a recent survey commissioned by Regus (LSE:RGU), the global leader in flexible workplace solutions, found that 35 percent of Americans have experienced an extreme increase in workplace stress in the last two years and 38 percent attributed that increase to fear of unemployment. In New York alone 8.8% of the workforce is unemployed. New York employees are not only fearing for their jobs, but are also burdened by a growing workload. Many companies have scaled back their operations, leaving the remaining employees to perform their regular tasks while taking on the additional workload left by their departed colleagues. Read more.
